Emily Murman
we are looking for fullness
lying long in the heat
both hungry & not / cheez-its
sticking like shells in the sand
as hovering gulls honk nearby
we are seeking out shade
shadows sliding over our skin
I’m definitely going to burn &
damn I hope our tattoos
don’t get all splotchy
we need to find the spot where
lake michigan breaks open
the suffocating midwest
leave our phones on land
walk in & just sit there
